In August of 2001, Johnna's one act play STORM RIDERS, was performed at the Hudson Avenue Theater in Los Angeles by the Women's Theater Company of Los Angeles in an Equity waiver production.

In May of 2001, the Chrysalis Foundation produced Johnna's full-length play IN THE ABSENCE OF ANGELS at the Iowa Correctional Institute for Women (Des Moines, IA). The play was given five performances, where inmates at the facility performed for fellow inmates, prison volunteers, Chrysalis Foundation members, and the governor's wife. In 2002 IN THE ABSENCE OF ANGELS will receive its West Coast Premiere at the Vanguard Theater Ensemble in Fullerton, CA.
